EN812 European Safety Standard for Industrial safety cap
SHOCK ABSORPTION / IMPACT:
Bump caps are designed to keep the wearer safe from static objects and low hanging hazards.
A 5 kg flat striker is dropped from a height of 250 mm into the bump cap to perform the impact test, with a maximum permissible transmitted force of 15 kN.
Hits are made on the front and back of the bump cap, with the head form inclined at 30° and 60°.
PENETRATION:
Bump caps are designed to protect you against sharp or pointy items (such as corners or protruding elements of static objects) A lower-energy penetration test is performed by dropping a 500g striker from a height of 500mm onto a bump cap attached to a fixed head form.
We recommend using a bump cap when the risk of impact to the head is minimum and the risk is low hanging objects where you can bump your head.
Ideal for industries such as manufacture, food and automotive.
